Saint Tutoring Scholarship

Applicant Eligibility

  • Graduating high school senior (class of 2021) anywhere in Florida.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (unweighted).

  • Black/African American/Afro-Latina/Afro-Caribbean  young woman (transgender and cisgender young women are encouraged to apply).

  • Accepted to a college or university.

  • Pell-grant Eligible (according to FAFSA Student Aid Report).

  • Planning to major in Education (any level/content area) or STEM related field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).


Application Requirements


  • 1 Letter of Recommendation from a teacher/professor, former or current employer, clergy member, coach, school counselor/adviser, or leader of an organization you are associated with.

    • Recommenders should send recommendation directly to

    • Recommenders should include in their recommendation:

      • relationship to applicant

      • discussion of applicant’s character, academic achievements, and extra curricular involvement

      • Why applicant would be a good candidate to receive the scholarship award


  • Copy of transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable for application but official transcript must be provided if student is selected as recipient).

  • Copy of acceptance letter to college/university that student will be attending Fall 2021.

  • Copy of FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) showing Pell Grant eligibility. 

  • Resume listing employment, volunteer service, and/or extracurricular involvement.

  • Responses to both short essay questions (minimum 250 words each/maximum 500 words each).

  • Include transcript, acceptance letter, copy of FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), resume, and responses to short answer questions as one file (PDF). If you need to combine multiple PDFs into one file, please use a secure website to do so. Otherwise, submit a shared link to a google folder containing all application materials.
